Homeowner Speaks about SERVPRO of Southeast Dallas County in Response to Her Flooded Home

When a flood affected Candi's Midlothian home, she was quick to call her insurance company to see what they could do about the widespread damage that currently impacted her residence. Her insurance company knew the right team to call, and our SERVPRO restorers got dispatched out quickly to begin work on preserving the contents of the flooded home from irreparable damages. From the time that Candi called her insurance company, she is happy to report that "within an hour an a half they were at our house fixing things."

One of the initial stages of this restoration process focused on getting the contents of the house out and away from the damages to prevent them from getting ruined by the pooled water, moisture and dampness throughout the home. This service is known as packing out, which removes the contents of a home in affected areas to a nearby facility for more concentrated cleaning and restoration efforts. Additionally, this process prevents these same contents from continually getting negatively affected by the water damage that has yet to get fully restored.

Packing out a home also frees up the entirety of affected rooms and damaged areas so that the appropriate equipment and personnel have space to work on extracting, drying and restoring damages to structural components, flooring, ceilings, and walls. Part of the effectiveness of this practice is to move quickly in removing the contents, and as Candi tells you, "within a day or two, our house was pretty well packed out."

One of the rewarding aspects of restoration is when we can return the contents of a home back to a restored area. While it was not an easy undertaking, our SERVPRO professionals worked tirelessly to restore the damage and to get this Midlothian home back to its original conditions before the flood.

While you can see from the video that Candi is grateful, summing it up with "we want to say thank you for sure," our SERVPRO of Southeast Dallas County team is happy to be a part of rebuilding lives throughout our community through the work that we do.
