Fire Damage Mitigation and Prevention with SERVPRO's ERP Mobile App Available to Dallas Enterprises

Dallas Businesses Benefit from SERVPRO's ERP Program to Mitigate or Prevent Fires and Harm

Fire damage is a risk for any business. There are many fire hazards in an office, including combustible materials such as paper or card, electronic appliances, and even dust. SERPVRO would like you to know that it is wise to be prepared for a blaze and make sure employees know what to do. One technique that is useful for Dallas office employees is the PASS technique.

Business managers in Dallas know it is essential to reduce the risk of fire damage if possible. One way of mitigating risks is training employees to use a fire extinguisher when necessary.

The PASS technique stands for “Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep.” Let us look at each point individually.

Pull means pull the pin on the extinguisher to make the device ready to discharge.

Aim means direct the nozzle at the base of the fire. Focusing on the top of the flames is not efficient – aiming for the base is the only way to smother them and stop the blaze.

Squeeze is simple – it means to depress the handle on the unit to release the extinguishing agent.

Sweep means move the nozzle from side to side in a sweeping motion across the base of the flames.

SERVPRO recommends teaching the PASS technique to every employee. One way to ensure everyone knows what to do is our Emergency Ready Plan, an app that helps you put together an emergency plan. You can use ERP to create a document of critical information in the event of an incident. Why not include the PASS technique in that plan so employees can access it when they need to?

There are times when it is not possible to extinguish a blaze before it gets out of control. In cases of smoke and fire damage to your business premises, SERVPRO is on hand to help with cleanup. Our IICRC-certified technicians are ready to scrub, scrape, clean and deodorize to leave your business “Like it never even happened.”
